Funny Girl Names in Catch Phrases

Whether you are creating a sports team, or you are assigned a group project in your class, a team name is a must. Not only is it necessary, but it can also be fun. A good, catchy name needs to be short, memorable, and if you want to take it further, funny names are always a hit.

A great way to have a powerful name is to have it unite all of your team members. For example, if you were starting a fitness group and you all liked Disney some clever names could be Beauties in Beast Mode, Once Upon A Dumbbell, and The Princess and the Quads.

If your group members are all women, a great unified purpose for your group would be women empowerment. In today's post I'm giving you a little inspiration to help you find the best name for your group. Before we get to the name ideas, here are a few reasons and benefits for a female empowerment team name.

5 Reasons Why You Would Need A Group Name

Before we get to the  list of the best group names for female empowerment, you may want to look into the different reasons why you should choose a name for your group.

  • Starting A Facebook Group: According to Omnicore Agency , there are over 1.8 billion people that have joined Facebook groups. Groups are a great way to connect with people that share the same demographics, interests, and more. One of the first noticeable impression of a Facebook group is its name. You want it to be catchy and inviting to the audience that you want to join.
  • Group Project: This can be for a class project or a work project. While a group name isn't a necessity, it can definitely make the group dynamic more fun.
  • Game Night: Just like with the previous reason, a catchy team name isn't necessary for the event. It does add to the fun, competitive experience though.
  • Sports Team: Whether you are a fan club cheering for your favorite team, or starting/joining an amateur sports team, awesome team names makes the experience that much more competitive. Another bonus is the team unity that will come from a cool name.
  • Group Chat: Giving a name to a group chat gives it a unique identity that you can't get from not naming them. You'll be able to easily find your family chat when updating your family on your day, your girl group when you want to plan a girls' night out, etc.. Funny group names work really well in this format.

5 Benefits of Creating a Group Name

  • Easier to find/more targeted members: As I mentioned before, a good team name promotes unity in a common interest among members. You are more likely to get women who enjoy cooking by naming your group Spice Girls' Kitchen than you are if you named the group Flower Power Women because you like flowers. Attract the members you want by thinking of women team names that fit well with what the group is about. Groups like these are often safe spaces for women and naming them can contribute to that feeling of safety.
  • Gives your team members a common goal: A strong, and creative, name is the best type of name for a group name in a team setting. If you are lucky, your team name could also serve as a mission statement. It can do this by reminding the young women in your group of what the goal is. Being part of a team builds confidence and a name everyone relates to boosts morale.
  • Builds team morale: Even if the group name isn't that important for what you are a part of, like a game night or sports team, it can still bring in excitement and team spirit if your ideas are creative, empowering group names.
  • Keeps messages organized: If you are in a lot of different conversations, having each of them have a different name makes it easier for you to keep them organized. For example, have you ever tried texting something to your friend group but ended up texting the message to your co-workers? Having group names help to avoid this type of mistake.
  • They're fun: And finally, catchy names are just plain fun! They're fun to say and fun to be part of and share on social media, especially for young girls.

One Last Tip

If you are still on the hunt for the perfect name, a great way to brainstorm is by doing a mind map.

Write out a few big concepts/words about what your group is about, then write down any related words. After you are done try pairing some words and play around with the individual words to see if any of them fit the type of name you are envisioning. Create a potential name list, then start narrowing them down until you find your name.

If that exercise doesn't work, another way to find some empowerment group names is to use a team name generator .

If you have a few words that you like all you have to do is add them to the generator to get more ideas. These can sometimes be hit or miss. They are worth a shot though while brainstorming a fun group name. Sometimes you find a few great gems for group names through team name generators like this.
